Tips for selecting and purchasing PE protective film

First, look at the light transmission
It is difficult to recognize with the naked eye. Optical instruments are preferred for measurement. A simpler method is to select a small piece of PE protective film and place it in the middle of the computer desktop. Create a new blank WORD document. Please check the whiteness of the blank WORD document with or without film on the computer or in different film areas (usually called brightness). By comparison, the brightest material can be selected, and its penetration is the best protective film.
Second: Look at the haze
1. How about the haze of PE protective film? First check the state of the protective film when the display is turned off. The method is the same as above. After each protective film is pasted in turn, the clearer the color of the computer display screen is, the smaller the haze is. The smaller the haze, the better the material. If the black test plate is used in this method, it is easier to see the difference.
2. In a slightly dark room, turn on the fluorescent lamp, tear off the upper and lower release film of the PE protective film, hold it by hand and place it between the eyes and the light, and carefully observe whether there is mist entering. PE protective film is evenly distributed inside, which is the main culprit affecting the haze. The more serious the fog, the greater the haze, the worse the protective film, and the better the opposite effect. (Note that haze affects permeability, but transmittance is a different concept!)
Third: Look at static electricity
As the LCD is a sensitive device that is afraid of static electricity, the smaller the static electricity is, the better. The test method is to prepare the PE protective film to be tested (three or two layers of materials), smoke and knock some soot on the desktop, or get some small paper scraps on the desktop, then tear off the top protective film of the PE protective film (this step is applicable to three layers of materials), then tear off the protective film of the silicone layer, and tear off this layer of PE. When using the protective film, please immediately use this layer (silicon dioxide gel surface) close to soot or paper scraps to check whether the protective film will adsorb these things onto the organic silicon layer of the protective film and whether the degree of adsorption is strong. The stronger it is, the higher the static electricity generated by the material, the worse the material is, and vice versa.
Fourth: Watch the defense
1. Whether the PE protective film is scratch resistant is a current concern. The scratch resistant materials on the market are basically the same (2-3H), with good performance. If there is scratch, they will be considered as non scratch resistant. The test method is to use a pencil with a hardness of 3H to push it onto the PE protective film at a 45 degree angle of 500G for 10 times. If there is no scratch, the 3H hardness requirement is considered to be met.
2. Another simple method is to use a slightly hard metal device or a newly cut nail to scratch the PE protective film with the strength of a common measuring needle. It can be determined that it is scratch resistant.
Fifth: Anti fingerprint
In recent years, the screen size of many products has become larger and larger, and more and more smart phones have added capacitive screens (use fingers to touch rather than pen to mark the old resistive screen). PE protective film increasingly needs the anti fingerprint function.
